Bridal Shower Games

Some of the best wedding memories a bride keeps forever are from fun experiences she had before her wedding day with friends. The bridal shower is much more than a way to wish the couple well. It’s for creating memories for the bride to cherish. It’s also for bonding in fun ways and bridal shower games are a great way to bond.

Sharing laughter is one of the best ways to make memories. Many of these bridal shower games are perfect for creating an atmosphere of laughter. These are not the usual, old-fashioned bridal shower games.  Here are my 10 of the most fun and memorable bridal shower games. Get ready to have some fun with them!

Make A Thoughtful Scrapbook For The Bride

This game needs some planning ahead. Send instructions to guests with shower invitations. Then watch as a beautiful keepsake scrapbook is created from memories each guest has experienced with the bride. Ask guests to bring meaningful things to the shower that recall good times. Items can be ticket stubs from events, fun photos, bottle tops from her favorite beverage, humorous trinkets or things that remind her of laughter shared. Let shower guests know they’ll be creating their own page, so they can plan ahead. Have a table with craft glue, stickers, markers, ribbon and other decorative supplies so guests can create the perfect scrapbook page. Brides are always grateful for this keepsake!

Create A Wedding Dress From Toilet Paper

Guests can be creative or outrageous while playing this fun game. Break guests up into groups of three or four. Each group chooses their bride, the person who will model the creation. Have each bride stand still while guests fashion a wedding dress from toilet paper, leading to surprises and laughter. Limit time to about 15 minutes and when time is up, have the dress models line up. Let the bride pick her favorite. Taking photos is a must for this activity, so they can be placed into the bride’s scrapbook later.

She Really DID Say This!

While the bride is opening shower gifts, assign someone to write quotes while she opens them. Phrases like “this is huge” or “I didn’t know it was plastic!” are hilarious and memorable quotes. They’re used later in a rousing game of “She Really DID Say This!”. Write each quote on separate pieces of paper. Put the paper into a hat. Draw them out as answers to questions like “What did she say on her wedding night?” There might be a little blushing, and almost guaranteed laughter, as each slip of paper is read aloud to answer a question. Each paper has a shower guests name written on the back. A vote to decide the funniest quote determines who wins a prize.

Make Jewelry Together

This fun game is played by supplying creative, crafty items that are used to create interesting, beautiful or even funny jewelry. Be sure to have plenty of beads, jewelry wire, charms and other jewelry making craft items. Have each guest create something unique. Then, award prizes for most beautiful, most creative or funniest piece of jewelry. Guests leave the bridal shower with a keepsake to remember the fun. Jewelry can even be worn to the wedding later!

Bride And Groom-To-Be Bingo

Shower attendees learn about the bride and groom through this fun Bingo game. Make cards with 16 squares. Number squares 1 through 16, randomly. Make small signs with the bride’s name on one side and the groom’s on the other. Distribute game boards, signs and candy pieces to guests. Use a numbered deck of 16 cards with quotes on them that apply to the bride or groom. Shower guests decide who the quote applies to, then hold up their sign with bride or groom written on it. If they are right, they place a candy on the card number square. The first guest to get four in a row is the winner.

Bridal Shower Becomes A Cooking Class

All guests enjoy when a bridal shower, especially one with a kitchen theme, becomes a cooking class. Have a professional cook or a lady from the group share a favorite recipe and show how it’s made. Make the dish during the shower, while imitating a favorite chef. Everyone gets a sample of the dish and takes home a printed recipe card as a remembrance.

Multiple Choice Quizzes

Print out quizzes with questions about the bride and groom. These can include childhood memories that you’ve discovered by talking to relatives, or favorite things liked by the bride or groom. Let each guest fill out a quiz. To create more spark, have guests read questions out loud. The guest with the most correct answers wins a prize.

Spa For A Day

Treat guests to a spa treatment done by a person hired for the event. Each guest leaves with a pretty new manicure or pedicure and memories of a fun afternoon. Professionals can also share helpful nail care advice. This is always a hit with shower guests.

Guess The Age Game

Collect humorous pictures of the bride and groom as children and from other ages. Remember crazy teenage hairdo’s or other life events like they happened yesterday. Have everyone guess the age of the pictured person. Whoever has the most correct answers wins.

Write A Funny Story

Begin a story with a line like “On Sherry and Mark’s honeymoon night”. Pass the paper around the room and let each guest write a funny line. Read aloud and enjoy laughter. Have guests vote on the most creative line. The bride can keep the funny story as another memory for her scrapbook.

Getting To Know Each Other Better

The idea behind bridal shower games is for everyone to have a good time and to get to know each other better. Laughter shared creates powerful memories. Helping create laughter at her bridal shower gives your bride-to-be fond memories she will treasure.
